Appointments
- The Multidisciplinary Writing Center works on an appointment only basis.
- You may call, email, walk in, or use WCONLINE to make an appointment. For cancellations, please notify the Multidisciplinary Writing Center well in advance.
Our Services
- The Multidisciplinary Writing Center is available to help individuals with writing and research methods. We can assist you in understanding your professor’s instructions or requirements, defining your paper’s topic, developing a thesis, and improving the organization of your paper.
- The Multidisciplinary Writing Center also helps with personal, nonacademic documents, such as developing cover letters, resumes, and applications for scholarships, and graduate or professional work. Whether your tutorial session is face-to-face or online, it’s important to have the instructor’s writing assignment handy so we can review it as needed.
Face-to-Face Tutorials
- In traditional tutorial sessions, tutors help students with a classroom writing assignment or professional-related document. Each tutorial session is 45 minutes long; appointments allow enough time for thorough review of one document.
- If you desire more time with a tutor, you are welcome to schedule an additional session for later that day, as long as there are no other conflicting appointments.
Online Tutorials
- Unless a student receives special permission, online appointments are reserved for campuses other than Plainview.
- When utilizing our online services, you will submit a paper through WCONLINE, our online appointment calendar. WCONLINE requires you to register for an account using a WBU email address. Please attach any assignment instructions you receive along with the paper.
- Please note that online students do not meet with tutors in real time; our online appointments allow tutors to make constructive comments on a document and return the document to the student through WCONLINE.
- Once you receive an email that says "you have successfully modified an appointment," log in to your WCONLINE account, where you will be able to access our comments in an attachment within your original appointment.
- Please allow up to 24 hours from the time of your scheduled appointment for a tutor to respond. We look forward to working with you!
