WBU Leadership

How Wayland Is Led

Leadership rooted in mission

Wayland's leadership structure brings together institutional oversight and day-to-day university leadership in support of our mission, students, and future.

Governance

Board of Trustees

Wayland Baptist University is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and governed by a Board of Trustees. The board includes up to 36 members and provides oversight for the university's mission, direction, and long-term stewardship.

A simple majority of its members are elected by the Baptist General Convention of Texas, while the remaining members are elected by the board.

Administration

President & Cabinet

The university president reports directly to the Board of Trustees and works closely with the Administrative Cabinet.

Together, these leaders guide Wayland's academic programs, student experience, operations, and campuses while advancing the university's mission and strategic priorities.
