Dr. Jay Givens grew up in southeast Texas surrounded by bayous and pine trees. He graduated from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School located in Orange, TX.

Talyssa Valencia, a graduating senior biology major from Lovington, NM, has had a busy but wonderful time at Wayland.

Steve Long grew up and graduated from high school in Oklahoma City, OK. After graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education in 1979

Dr. Jo Beth DeSoto grew up and graduated from high school in Hobbs, NM. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of New Mexico.

Dr. Perry Collins grew up in Sweetwater, TX. In high school he wanted to go to college to be a missionary but later decided on youth ministry.

Dr. Laura Brandenburg considers herself a dyed-in-the-wool West Texan. Born in Odessa and raised in Amarillo and Snyder, Brandenburg graduated high school from Coronado High in Lubbock.

Dr. Brian Kuhnert grew up in Umbarger, TX, a small German farming community located 10 miles west of Canyon. After graduating from Canyon High in 1996, he attended West Texas A&M

Christine Lockridge is a junior non-traditional student double majoring in Intercultural Missions and Communications Studies.

Justus Brozek is a junior Two-Dimensional Art major from Bovina, TX.
