The School of Christian Studies provides a unique co-vocational ministry undergraduate and the first five-year bachelor's to master of divinity programs at a Texas Baptist school, along with other accelerated bachelor's to master's programs.
All students in the School of Christian Studies learn to be critically informed, culturally engaged, and globally-minded kingdom servants through the mentoring of Christ-centered and student-focused faculty.
Our faculty and students are committed Christ followers who will challenge you to deepen your knowledge of and faith in Jesus Christ, through biblical study, theological reflection, and application in ministry.
In community, our faculty will mentor you and help you identify and develop your gifts and clarify your understanding of God’s call as you prepare yourself for a lifetime of service.
You will develop lifelong skills of reflection and critical thinking as you learn to read the biblical texts, articulate Christian doctrine, and apply these in redemptive ways in the world around you.
You will deepen your appreciation of cultural diversity and God’s mission to the world and have the opportunities to serve internationally through the Wayland Missions Center.
Our faculty will challenge you to engage the world in relevant ways as an image bearer of God and a Christian agent of reconciliation and hope for other humans, your society, and the whole of creation.
Through the development of ministry skills and spiritual practices, you will learn to better reflect Jesus’ servant nature and work toward the furtherance of God’s kingdom in the world.
