Wayland’s growing School of Nursing to host ACEN site visit

NEW BRAUNFELS – Evidence of Wayland Baptist University’s outstanding School of Nursing will be on display next month when Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) conducts a continuing accreditation site visit at the New Braunfels campus.

An ACEN team plans to examine the university’s growing Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. According to Dean of the School of Nursing Dr. Nikolaos S. Moraros, EdD, MSHSA, MSN, RN, PHN, the team plans to visit the campus Sept. 7-9.

“I am so honored and proud of this upcoming milestone,” Moraros said of the ACEN site visit. “This milestone of our upcoming reaccreditation process will reflect the dedication of the faculty and staff, and their commitment to excellence in nursing education. I am truly blessed to be part of such an incredible organization.”

As part of the process, the public is invited to meet with the ACEN site visit team to share comments about Wayland’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The meeting takes place at 11 a.m., Sept. 8, 2022, in Rooms 601 and 602 at 1672 Independence Dr., Suite 150, in New Braunfels.

The team also welcomes written comments, but they must be received by Aug. 19. Comments should be emailed to mstoll@acenursing.org or mailed to Dr. Marsal Stoll. Wayland’s School of Nursing has been enjoying continued success. The ACEN site visit comes just a year after the School of Nursing celebrated a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination-RN exam for the May 2021 graduating class

Top-notch faculty has contributed to the success of Wayland’s nursing program. The university is currently recruiting an assistant/associate professor of nursing and an adjunct instructor for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
