On academic rigor…

“I have become more connected and committed to understanding the ideologies, idealism and idiosyncrasies of society. The Wayland challenge is to push past any limitations in thought process, in underutilized strengths and our interconnectedness with one another. Therefore, the academic rigor at Wayland has increased my confidence level in my approach to both verbal and written communication within a multicultural and multilingual environment.”

On quality education…

“Wayland offers the highest quality of educational opportunities with the most innovative methods and highly efficient practices. It is phenomenal that Wayland has multiple campuses in different states and teaches classes on various military bases.  In addition, Wayland has exceeded my expectations by offering flexible class schedules, continuous enrollment and 11-week online courses throughout the academic year.  The WBU-San Antonio campus and affiliated Alumni hold events throughout the year that brings current and former students and family together for entertainment and fellowship.”

On finding your excellence…

“I am blessed to say Wayland Baptist University and the Wayland family has attributed to the resurgence in my motivation to finish my college education. The true measure of a Christian and human being is how one responds to challenges, adversity, barriers and obstacles. Due to my multiple military deployments in the Middle East my college education has not been continuous. I originally graduated with an Associates of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Management from Central Texas College (CTC) in Killeen, Texas and miraculously my A.A.S. degree fits perfectly into the B.A.S. program here at Wayland. During summer 2017, Wayland Baptist bestowed academic honors for my academic achievement of a 4.0 GPA in which I was placed on the President’s List for the semester.”

On Christian education…

“The embraced and accepted culture at Wayland Baptist University worldwide is to use your gifts and talents in selfless-service of community and to honor the legacy of Christ (Romans 12:5-8). I sincerely appreciate that on every syllabus from every class at Wayland is the mission statement of the University and the Christian values interwoven throughout the syllabus.”

On experiential learning…

“Although, I am both an external campus student in San Antonio and online, I would personally like to thank all Wayland leadership at the Plainview campus involved in the decision making process in creating the Law Enforcement Scholarship. I was awarded the reoccurring Law Enforcement Scholarship of $1,000 per semester with Wayland Baptist University (WBU) due to my full-time employment as a Correctional Officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). Also, WBU accepted my military experience in the Navy as college credits and awarded 9 additional semester hours for completion of the TDCJ Correctional Officer Pre-Service Academy towards my Bachelors program. This experiential learning has accelerated my time line in preparation to graduate with a B.A.S. degree in Management and a minor in Justice Administration. Between all the past and present students including alumni and from all the Wayland campuses worldwide, Wayland Baptist University is one large happy family.”
