Jackson Harbison, a junior Business major from Shallowater, almost didn't become a fourth generation Pioneer.

Joshua Wynn is a sophomore double major in mathematics and geology from San Antonio, TX. He's also an active member of the Wayland Baptist Geological Society.
Sara van der Leek, a junior Biology and Pre-Vet major from Plainview, TX certainly has her hands full.

Conner Rane Carpenter graduated from Wayland in 2016 with a double major in intercultural missions and biology.
Bradley Sell graduated from Wayland with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education and English in 2011 and is the owner/operator of Broadway Brew Coffee Shop in Plainview.
Jessica Kenneson Krewall graduated from Wayland's Plainview campus in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Jessica is currently pursing a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.
Haley Bonner, a 2015 graduate, received her Bachelor of Arts in English with the honor of Magna Cum Laude. While at Wayland, Haley also pursued minors in theatre and music.
Raised in Pampa, Texas, and a graduate of Pampa High School, Dr. Michael Davis holds a B.A. with Honors in philosophy from Wayland Baptist University, an M.A. in philosophy and an M.A. in history from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in education and human development from Vanderbilt University.
When Mary Feril and Tim Fisher came to Wayland in 2003, they both found themselves in Wayland’s School of Fine Arts where they joined the theatre program.
Chris Kirby graduated with a degree in Vocal Music Education in 2013 from Wayland.
In 2010, Kianna (Bullard) Brown graduated from Wayland with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish.
Kelsey Beggs received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Specialization in International Management and later a Master of Business Administration degree, both from Wayland in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
Joao Marcos “Johnny” Terra earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and an MBA (emphasis in accounting) from Wayland in 2011 and 2012, respectively. He also played Men’s Basketball for Wayland and was team captain for two years.
When John Trischitti III first came to Wayland, he intended to major in theatre. However, after a few semesters, he decided to pursue a degree in English although he continued to frequent the theatre department.
During his time at Wayland, Dr. Jarrett H. Ross was dedicated to many notable organizations on campus, including the Wayland President’s Ambassadors, the Texas Academy of Science, and the Pioneer Health Service Corps.
Morgan (Switzenberg) Kirby earned her bachelor of music degree in Vocal Music Education from Wayland Baptist University in 2012.
Dr. Philip J. Carlson, a professor at Belhaven University, graduated from Wayland in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in both mathematics and chemistry.
Paul Harkey earned his bachelor’s degree in church music from Wayland Baptist University in 2003.
Matthew Evans earned his Bachelor of Arts in Religion with an emphasis on missions in 2014. Shortly afterward, he headed to South Brazil on a mission trip to do college ministry through the International Mission Board.
Lauryn Bruggink graduated from Wayland in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She is from Oak Creek, Colorado.
In 2011, Jake Miser received a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre and graduated with the highest honor of summa cum laude.
When Sarah Buckland, a theatre and English major, and Amanda Allen, a fellow theatre and education major (2011) came to Wayland, their silly antics and humor often brought them to the stage as they entertained many WBU audiences.
Abigail Manes Abigail Manes graduated from Wayland in the spring of 2016 with her degree in math education.
Brent Knox, a Wayland graduate and kindergarten teacher, was once a 44-year-old former welder who had only dabbled with the idea of college.
Becca Wilhite, a 2000 Wayland graduate with a double major in English and Physical Education, knew she would be a Flying Queen, but she didn’t know that was not the only kind of Queen she would be at Wayland.
LeAudra Franklin graduated with a double major in Religion and Religious Education from Wayland Baptist University in 2005. She’s currently the Associate Pastor of Children’s Ministries at Grace Point Church in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Dr. Peter Bowen spent his early years in Waurika, OK and graduated from high school in Memphis, TX.
Dr. Jim Todd, a San Antonio native, graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied arts and sciences and a master's degree in education, both from Texas State University. However his path to Wayland was a long and winding one.
Dr. David Bishop is the son of a pastor and grew up in small towns throughout west Texas and Oklahoma.
Kassie Lane was born and raised in Plainview. She graduated from Plainview High School in 2007 and was able to be a concurrent student at Wayland while attending high school.
Dr. Charles Starnes, a native of Canyon, spent 27 years on submarines in the United States Navy. After retiring from the Navy in 1996 and returning to his hometown, he "quickly became bored."
Dr. Eric Ash, a 30 year veteran of the United States Air Force, grew up in Gunnison, CO. One of his jobs during this time was President and Commandant of the Community College of the Air Force. It was there that Dr. Ash met Dr. Elane Seebo, Wayland's Vice President for External Campuses.
Dr. Scott Franklin graduated from Canadian High School in 1994 and later graduated from Wayland in 1998 with a double major in Religion and Mathematics. He later attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a Masters in Mathematics in 2000 and a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2005.
Dr. Jay Givens grew up in southeast Texas surrounded by bayous and pine trees. He graduated from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School located in Orange, TX.
Steve Long grew up and graduated from high school in Oklahoma City, OK. After graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education in 1979
Dr. Jo Beth DeSoto grew up and graduated from high school in Hobbs, NM. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Perry Collins grew up in Sweetwater, TX. In high school he wanted to go to college to be a missionary but later decided on youth ministry.
Dr. Laura Brandenburg considers herself a dyed-in-the-wool West Texan. Born in Odessa and raised in Amarillo and Snyder, Brandenburg graduated high school from Coronado High in Lubbock.
Dr. Brian Kuhnert grew up in Umbarger, TX, a small German farming community located 10 miles west of Canyon. After graduating from Canyon High in 1996, he attended West Texas A&M
Dr. Murray was awarded her Ph.D. in Strategic Management/Organization Theory with a minor in Marketing and Quantitative Analysis from Mississippi State.
Dr. Kenroy Wedderburn grew up and started his academic career in a place that is as different from the high plains of West Texas as one can get. Wedderburn grew up in Kingston, Jamaica
Dr. Kevin Sweeney grew up on a ranch in Paoli, Oklahoma.
Dr. Fountain grew up in Springfield, Nebraska and did his early schooling at home. He pursued his undergraduate work at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance.
A farm girl from Iowa, Dr. McClenagan went to Luther College for her bachelor's degree.
Dr. Pyeatt lived in several different areas growing up, from Colorado to Wyoming to New Mexico.
