All students registered at the Plainview campus are eligible for health services. We offer illness assessments, with developed self-care plans, and first aid treatment, as well as, injury assessments and referrals.
Routine services are free of charge, including 2-3 day supplies of over-the-counter (OTC) medications when needed. Any services for vaccinations and immunizations will be charged to the student; students are also responsible for any healthcare charges incurred off campus.
Timely Care
Wayland also offers the Timely Care app to assist with medical care when needed. Click Timelycare.com/wayland to learn more and download the app!
Vaccines
The state-required meningitis vaccine can be administered at the Plainview campus. Call 806-291- 3765 to discuss pricing and to schedule an appointment.
Learn more about the meningitis vaccination requirement.
All students are required to submit a Vital Health Record through Magnus Health as well as documentation of a current (within five years) meningitis vaccination prior to beginning classes at Wayland. Even though no other immunizations are required for admission, it is strongly recommended that students have had a diphtheria/tetanus (DT) booster within the last 10 years, a measles/mumps/rubella (MMR) booster since 1980, and annual flu vaccinations
International Students
International students, be aware that you must provide proof of:
• Tuberculin test or chest X-ray, with results
• A MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) booster since 1980
• An adult DT (diphtheria/tetanus) booster within last 10 years
Magnus Health
All students must provide health information on their Magnus Health account. Magnus Health serves as Wayland's online health record and document filing system, in compliance with WBU requirements.
Magnus is a secure, easy-to-use website that walks students through submitting the required information. Students will receive an email from Magnus Health, once they become eligible, including a username and a temporary password. Use these to set up your account.
Compliance with Magnus Health is required for all Plainview campus students, commuter or residential.
Health Services Hours
The health services office is open during regular business hours. The coordinator of health services can be contacted after hours for needs and/or concerns, but students should remember to call 911 first for any emergency.
