SIFE team to host computer courses

PLAINVIEW – In a community service effort, the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team at Wayland Baptist University will offer free computer skills courses on Thursday evenings beginning Feb. 25.

              The classes will cover topics including Microsoft Word 2007, Excel 2007, Power Point 2007, the Internet and information security. Classes are aimed at basic level of instruction for those wanting to learn more about how to use the computer for personal or professional work.

              Classes will begin at 7 p.m. in Nunn Business Building Room 204 and will be led by Wayland students and SIFE members. Classes will repeat each Thursday through April 1.

              The SIFE team conducts various service projects around campus and the community dealing with issues of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and computer literacy. Sam Van Hoose is the group’s sponsor.
