Graphic Design Professor's Work on Display

Two posters, one depicting a new design of Serbian dinar bills, the other showing examples of the Serbiana sans-serif font designed for the project.
These posters show the dinar bills designed by WBU graphic design professor Dejan Mraovic for the National Bank of Serbia, and the font he created for the project. His work is on display at his alma mater, Ohio University.

PLAINVIEW – Two pieces of artwork from Wayland Baptist University art professor Dejan Mraovic, MFA, were selected for a show at his alma mater, Ohio University, for a retrospective show “REACH: 50+ year of Works by Ohio Graphic Design Alumni.”

Mraovic’s posters include one that features six bank notes designed for the National Bank of Serbia in Belgrade. The front and back of each dinar bill show, “the greatest sons and daughters of Serbia” such as Nikola Tesla. Mraovic’s second poster shows examples of Serbiana, a sans-serif font he designed with Latin and Cyrillic characters. Mraovic’s works were done in collaboration with the National Bank of Serbia and will be submitted to the governor and treasury of Serbia for consideration for implementation.

Mraovic’s posters will be on display at the Ohio University art show until March 11. The exhibition showcases typography, complex communication systems, and the diversity of graphic design in contemporary culture by 20 alumni. It can be viewed online at
