Homecoming After Party Features Concert

Woman singing with a band
Performers from the Caldwell Collective present cover tunes from the decades at their concert on the Wayland campus back in July 2018. The group will reprise their rocking road show on campus as a wrap to homecoming next weekend.

Wayland will host a homecoming after-party on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 5:30-7 p.m. with a free concert of chart-topping hits from across the decades presented by the Caldwell Collective Band of Lubbock. The concert will take place on the grassy area in the center of the campus behind Harral Auditorium, with parking available near the McClung Center at 7 th and Smythe streets.

Food trucks will be on hand to serve guests, and costs and menus will vary by vendor.

The Caldwell Collective is a group of cutting-edge musicians and singers hand-picked by legendary West Texas musician, producer and promoter Don Caldwell of Lubbock. The current Caldwell Collective has performed countless events including large concerts, intimate private showcases, major university functions, countless corporate events, galas, weddings and Lubbock’s iconic 4th on Broadway evening concert with an attendance more than 50,000 people.

Plainview audiences may remember the band from Jimmy Dean 90 th birthday party held on campus in August 2018. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the outdoor concert. The show is family-friendly and guests of all ages are welcome.
