Mark Pair Sounding Off On Stage
PLAINVIEW – Mark Anthony Pair, piano artist in residence at Wayland Baptist University, will be featured in his 102nd performance on the WBU stage at 7 p.m. on April 10 in Harral Memorial Auditorium. This performance will focus on famous European piano classics.
Admission to the recital is free and open to the public.
The concert is divided into four segments, representing two major periods of music, the Romantic and the Modern. Romantic Period composers that will be the focal point of the concert include Grieg, Brahms and Liszt. Pair will also perform the works of Ravel from the Modern Period. He will perform several different styles of composition including a sonata in four movements, a capriccio, several waltzes and an etude.
Pair instructed piano and music theory at Wayland for 36 years. Upon retirement, he was named Wayland’s first piano artist in residence.
