PLAINVIEW – Wayland Baptist University’s Plainview campus is hosting a college preview weekend on Friday and Saturday, giving high school juniors and seniors a chance to get a head start on college preparation. College students who are transferring to Wayland are also eligible to attend.

High School seniors who are on schedule to graduate in May also have the opportunity to pre-register for courses that will begin next fall. Currently, more than 150 students are scheduled to register on Saturday, with more than 200 expected to be at the event.

Students attending the event will also have to the opportunity to hear more about Wayland’s study abroad opportunities, KALEO and missions programs, and the university family during the Pioneer Showcase led by Wayland President Dr. Bobby Hall.

Friday’s activities will include a campus-wide chapel service at 11 a.m. and a free concert featuring Christian music recording artists Blanca and John Tibbs at 7 p.m. in Harral Auditorium. Friday afternoon will include some free time where students can visit the Abraham Art Gallery, the Jimmy Dean Museum, or hang out in Pete’s Place and grab some Starbucks coffee. There will also be games and fun activities in the grassy area in the middle of campus. There will also be a late-night karaoke and s’mores event in Pete’s Place.
