Dr. Ernest Rahn to lead Wayland Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Wayland Baptist University campus at Eielson Air Force Base near Fairbanks is under new leadership as Dr. Ernest Rahn has been named Executive Director. Rahn officially began his duties on July 17.
Rahn comes to Wayland with more than 26 years of experience in the United States Air Force, including being stationed at Eielson AFB from 2009-2012. During his Air Force career, Rahn has been deployed to both Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. He has instructed a number of courses dealing with aviation, propulsion and other aeronautical applications. He has also served as an Assistant Associate Professor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Rahn holds a Ph.D. in business administration from Northcentral University in Prescott Valley, Ariz. He earned a Master of Science degree in adult education at Troy University, a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle, and a Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle in professional aeronautics.
The Wayland campus at Eielson AFB in Fairbanks was established in 1985 and became an independent campus in 1999. The Fairbanks campus operates teaching sites at Fort Wainwright and the Doyon Industrial Facility. Other WBU campus locations include Anchorage, Alaska; Phoenix and Sierra Vista, Ariz.; Mililani, Hawaii; Albuquerque and Clovis, N.M.; Altus, Okla.; and Plainview, Lubbock, Amarillo, Wichita Falls and San Antonio, Texas.
