Visit With Dr. Ortega, No Co-Pay Required

Dr. Martin Ortega speaks to a child while conducting a clinic during a medical mission trip to Honduras in June. Ortega will be on campus as a guest speaker for the School of Mathematics and Sciences on Sept. 22.

PLAINVIEW – The School of Mathematics and Sciences at Wayland Baptist University is hosting Dr.  Martin Ortega for a special guest lecture/talk at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22 as part of Homecoming 2017 activities. The talk is open to the public and admission is free.

Ortega graduated from Wayland in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He received his medical degree from the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Ortega is board certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Texas Academy of Family Physicians. His special interests include medical student and resident education, integrated care and chronic diseases.

Ortega currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director within the Department of Family and Community Medicine for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine at the Permian Basin.

Ortega participated in a medical mission trip sponsored by Wayland in June. The group spent 9 days, working with the people of Honduras.
