McCloud named Director of Development for the Lubbock Campus

LUBBOCK – Wayland Baptist University has named Bobby McCloud the new Director of Development at its Lubbock campus, replacing Eddie Owens who accept a position at a local bank.

McCloud has more than 13 years of experience in retail sales and management, most recently serving as a financial services professional for MassMutual Southwest. He also worked as store manager for Gander Mountain, as well as operations manager for Lowes Home Centers and as an assistant manager at Wal Mart.

A graduate of Seminole High School, McCloud earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Wayland. He is a member of the Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary, as well as the Frenship Foundation for Leadership, and has been involved with the Frenship District Improvement Committee. McCloud is a finance team member at Calvary Baptist Church, and has been a team captain of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Total Resource Committee, Vice President of the Board for the Lubbock Area Association of Health Underwriters, team captain for the Lubbock Area Diabetes Association and a member of Rotary’s Paul Harris Society.

He has received awards and recognition for both job-related and volunteer work.

At Wayland, McCloud will be the primary fundraiser for the Lubbock campus, working to grow both support for and recognition of Wayland’s mission to Lubbock and the surrounding  area. McCloud can be reached at or by phone at 806-742-9517.
