Tickets to go on sale for lunch with Laura Bush

PLAINVIEW – Wayland Baptist University welcomes former first lady Laura Bush to campus on Wednesday, Oct. 21, as guest speaker for the Willson Series, followed by a scholarship luncheon.
Mrs. Bush will participate in the regularly scheduled Wednesday chapel service at 11 a.m. in Harral Auditorium. Following chapel, Mrs. Bush will attend a scholarship fundraiser in the Pete and Nelda Laney Student Activities Center. Chapel attendance is free and open to the public. Tickets, however, are required. Chapel tickets will be made available in September.
Luncheon tickets go on sale beginning July 20. The Underwriter package may be purchased for $5,000 from July 20-31. Event Sponsor packages are $3,000, and the Table Sponsor packages are $1,500; both can be purchased from August 3-21. Individual tickets may be purchased for $125 beginning Aug. 24. All proceeds will benefit the general scholarship fund for Wayland students.
The $5,000 Underwriter package will include eight luncheon tickets, eight reserved seats at chapel, four copies with signed bookplates of Mrs. Bush’s autobiography “Spoken from the Heart” and eight tickets for the VIP photo opportunity. Also included is an ad in the printed event program as well as individual table recognition. Only 20 Underwriter packages will be available.
On August 3, the $3,000 Event Sponsor package will go on sale and include eight tickets to the luncheon, eight reserved seats at chapel, two copies with signed bookplates of the autobiography, an ad in the printed event program and individual table recognition.
The $1,500 Table Sponsor package will also go on sale Aug. 3 and include eight tickets to the luncheon, one copy of the book with signed bookplate, and special mention on the table signs and programs.
Individual tickets will be $125 and will be available Aug. 24-Sept. 15.
Seating for both chapel and the scholarship luncheon is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to security requirements, no cell phones or cameras will be allowed in either venue.
