August 26, 2014

PLAINVIEW – The Wayland Baptist University School of Music officially opens its fall concert season with a faculty recital featuring Dr. Richard Fountain, Associate Professor of Collaborative Piano, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, in Harral Memorial Auditorium.

Dr. Fountain’s program, featuring a variety of “romantic miniatures,” begins with three concert etudes by Frédèric Chopin followed by original works and transcriptions by Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, and Richard Wagner. The recital concludes with Miroirs by Maurice Ravel – a five-movement piece with each movement dedicated to a fellow member of the French avant-garde artist group, Les Apaches.

Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
