Wayland to host career and education fair March 25
March 12, 2010
PLAINVIEW – Wayland Baptist University’s career services office will host its annual Career Expo on March 25 in the Laney Activities Center.
The event, which is open to both Wayland students and the general public, will be held from 11-1 p.m. Interested participants should bring a current resume and dress in business attire, prepared to visit with employers from a variety of sectors.
Recruiters from various businesses will be on hand for the expo as well as representatives from area and regional school districts looking to fill teaching positions. The expo will give job seekers and students graduating soon a chance to look into the various opportunities around the region.
“With the struggling economy, we are hoping that anyone looking for employment will find it through the vendors that are present and looking to hire,” said Amy Shick, coordinator of counseling and career services at Wayland. “The School of Business will provide mock interviews on site as well.”
The mock interviews will benefit job seekers or those anticipating a job search down the road who want to hone their skills in the interview process. There is no cost for the expo or services provided there.
