Creative writing class returns for fall term
August 19, 2010
PLAINVIEW – The free community creative writing forum offered through Wayland Baptist University will begin meeting again this fall, with the first session on Tuesday, Aug. 24.
Led by Dr. Ashley Faulkner, assistant professor of English at Wayland, the class meets weekly from 6:30-8 p.m. in room 205 of Gates Hall, located at 7th and Quincy Streets.
The non-credit class offers help for aspiring creative writers and a forum to present their ideas for feedback from their peers and a college professor skilled in creative writing. Writers of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to attend the classes.
Besides the weekly sessions, the forum offers constructive criticism workshops, group readings for feedback and the possibility of a publication compiling participant works. In addition, the group conducts public readings once each month at the Broadway Brew for anyone interested.
