Wayland seeking alumni artist contributions for centennial homecoming exhibit
PLAINVIEW – Calling all alumni artists! Wayland Baptist University is seeking to showcase some of its brightest and best graduates and their work in an alumni art exhibit to be displayed during Centennial Homecoming 2009 in the Abraham Family Art Gallery on the Wayland campus.
Dr. Candace Keller, professor of art and curator for the gallery, will be curating the show. Entry is open to all alumni of Wayland who are artists and any former art students of Wayland, and pieces can be in any media category: paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, mixed media, textiles, digital and jewelry. Artwork must be framed and ready to hang or install in the gallery.
Deadline to submit entries for consideration is Jan. 10, 2009, and artists will be notified of accepted work by mail on Jan. 23. The show runs Feb. 20 through March 27. There will be a $25 fee per artist and a 20 percent commission charged on all pieces sold. All proceeds from the show benefit the art scholarship fund at Wayland.
