Louder crowned Miss Wayland 2006
PLAINVIEW -- Celeste Louder, a sophomore from Hereford, was crowned Miss Wayland 2006 Saturday night. Louder was selected from a field of 11 co-eds during the pageant held at Harral Auditorium.
Miss Wayland 2005, Alpha Jennings of Plainview, crowned Louder, a math major representing Baptist Student Ministries. First runner-up was Joy Miller, a sophomore from Amarillo who also earned Miss Congeniality. Second runner-up was Lauren Willson, a senior from Idalou. Other finalists were Amber Sutton, a junior from Lubbock, and Abby Holmes, a junior from Hobbs, N.M.
Winners for Best Interview, Best Talent and Best Evening Gown announced at a reception
after the pageant. Senior Christie Ward earned Best Evening Gown honors, while Amber
Sutton was named best interview. Abby Holmes was honored for Best Talent.
Contestants were judged 30 percent on personal interviews, 30 percent on talent, 25 percent on evening gown and 15 percent on final question. Judges for the pageant were Janice Abercrombie, Ricky Cross, Gary Koelder and Carla Douglas Hardy.
Louder, the daughter of Steve and Pam Louder, played the piano for her talent.
