Schaeffer Foundation president to speak at WBU chapel
PLAINVIEW – The Office of Church Service at Wayland Baptist University will host Udo Middlemann for a time of discussion and dialogue on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Middlemann is the president of the Francis A. Schaeffer Foundation in New York. The foundation was founded by Dr. Francis A Schaeffer, an author and theologian, who is recognized as one of the most influential Christian thinkers of the day.
Middlemann, who has served as the consultant and principle speaker on “Ethics for a Civil Society” for the Russian Ministry for Education since 1991, speaks to groups on topics dealing with how religion impacts everyday life. In his sessions Middlemann doesn’t lecture so much as answer questions and discuss issues taken from those in attendance.
A round table discussion with Middlemann will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in room 211 of the Wayland University Center. The discussion is open to the community. On Wednesday morning, ministers are invited to attend a breakfast and forum with Middlemann at 7:30 a.m. in the Wayland cafeteria. The breakfast is sponsored by the Office of Church Services.
Middlemann will speak at Wayland’s chapel service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and at the university ministerial fellowship meeting at noon in UC 211.
