WBU hosts campus revival

PLAINVIEW – Wayland Baptist University is hosting a campus and community revival Oct. 12-14, sponsored by Baptist Student Ministries. Meetings will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in Harral Auditorium on the Wayland Campus, as well as Wayland’s chapel service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The public is invited to attend.

David Edwards will serve as evangelist for the revival. Based in Oklahoma City, Edwards has dedicated his life to re-introducing the truth of God’s word and helping people get one step closer to Christ. Edwards has been a featured speaker at Bible study groups in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and Florida. Edwards travels the country full time speaking to young adults in churches, one-on-one or in packed arenas such as the Alamo Dome in San Antonio.

Edwards authored the book One Step Closer, Holy and Acceptable and is the creator of the Destinations Video Series.

The Jami Smith Band will lead the worship services. Jami Smith specializes in praise and worship, with the goal of leading people into an interactive worship service where God is the ultimate focus.
