Van Hoose joins business faculty at Wayland


Sam Van Hoose has joined the faculty in the Division of Business at Wayland Baptist University as assistant professor of management information systems.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Van Hoose has served as an adjunct professor in the division for the past two years after receiving his MBA from Wayland. He also holds a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Texas Tech University in instructional technology.

Van Hoose worked as technology director for the Hale Center Independent School District from 1997-2002 and previously owned his own computer sales and service business.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1987, where he was damage control assistant on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk and engineer officer on the U.S.S. Spiegel Grove and the U.S.S. Bowen, among other duties.
