Wayland's Phoenix campus graduates 28 in Friday ceremony

The Phoenix campus of Wayland Baptist University held its fall commencement ceremony on Sept. 6, conferring degrees on 28 individuals.

The ceremony was held at the First Southern Baptist Church in Avondale, with Dr. Paul Armes, president of Wayland, bringing the graduation address. Special music was presented by Mary Kay Wonner, vocalist. Armes and Dr. Bill Hardage, executive vice president, conferred the degrees.

Kevin Antoine received the Master of Arts in Management degree during the ceremony. Baccalaureate recipients included Tom Blackshear, Daniel Borkowski, Ellen Carver, David Coleman, Paul Davis, Natalie Ensworth, Margarita Escobar, Rebecca Fisher, Stanley Janders, Jason Kunik, Jeff Lunsford, Robin Lunsford, Julie Mendoza and Tanya Mooney.

Also earning baccalaureate degrees were Benjamin Moore, Michael Olson, Rick Palmer, Victor Pierson, Mark Schott, Beverly Smith, Brian Starcevich, Sean Taylor, Dondra Tolerson, Leon Vereen, Henry Walker and Sheri Wilson. Bill Van Gotum received the associate's degree.

Dr. Glenn Simmons is dean of the Phoenix campus.
