LLC to offer holiday craft classes

The Lifelong Learning Center at Wayland Baptist University will offer a series of four holiday craft classes beginning Oct. 29.

The courses will give instruction and lead participants in creating a snowman shirt, a ceramic Santa, a Christmas tree shirt and a Christmas bird house shirt. All four workshops will be offered for a total of $28, and participants will need to bring their own supplies.

The class to create a patriotic snowman shirt will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The shirt design features a glittery snowman holding an American flag and a scroll with the Pledge of Allegiance. The design features red, white and blue with glitter accents.

The ceramic Old World Santa course will be offered on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Old World Santas are painted with ceramic oils in bright colors and include glitter accents. Participants can purchase a ceramic Santa (no larger than nine inches tall) at the House of Ceramics in Plainview. Paints will be available for student use at the Lifelong Learning Center for a fee of $7 per Santa.

The course creating an American Christmas tree shirt will be offered on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The shirt design features a Christmas tree decorated with flags and red, white and blue decorations and glitter accents.

The final course involves creating a Christmas bird house shirt, offered on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The shirt features a bird house covered in green holly with red, green and glittery accents.
