Wayland inducts students into honor societies

Fourteen students from Wayland Baptist University were honored recently with induction into two academic honor fraternities. Ceremonies were held in Brown Chapel on Nov. 26.

Twelve students were inducted into Alpha Chi, the national honor society fraternity. Two were inducted into Psi Chi, the honor society for psychology majors or minors. To be chosen for membership, students must be in the top ten percent of the junior or senior class.

New Alpha Chi inductees include juniors Melissa Almsted of Plainview, Amanda Barker of Amarillo, Joell Beagle of Alamogordo, NM, Richard Campbell of Plainview, Kayla Dobbins of Amarillo, Staci Copeland of Perryton, Ronni Foote of Whiteface, Kalie Krey of Tahoka, Joi Stanley of Canyon, and Traci Phipps of Lamesa. Senior inductees included Christy White of Dalhart and Sarah Mills of Childress.

Psi Chi inducted junior Paulinda Gibson of Plainview and senior Jennifer Hernandez of Floydada.

Dr. Perry Collins, assistant professor of psychology, is sponsor for the two groups.
