Wayland groups offering safe, fun festival for community children

Student organizations at Wayland Baptist University are offering a safe, fun evening for community children Friday, Oct. 26, at the annual Fall Festival.

The event will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Pete's Place, the student lounge located in the basement of the McClung University Center in the middle of the Wayland campus. There is no admission charge and children and their parents are invited to attend.

The festival will feature game booths and activities like bobbing for apples, ring toss and fishing geared toward children ages 3-10, with prizes and candy available. Children may wear costumes to the event.

Fall Festival is a project of the Council of Student Organizations, with membership organizations required to participate in some way.

"Each group tries to take the opportunity to interact with the public, represent the school and get their members to participate," said CSO president Amanda Barker.
