Bristow received honor from alma mater
Wayland Baptist University presented Edmond resident Wayne Bristow with the Distinguished Service Alumni Award during its Homecoming festivities Nov. 15.
Founder of Total Life International Ministries, Bristow is a harvest evangelist, author and speaker. He has been in ministry for 46 years, leading more than 1,000 crusades in 34 countries on five continents and much of the United States.
Bristow served in the pastorate for three years and worked for the Foreign Mission Board and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma before starting his own organization in 1993. He has written several books, including "Total Life Now" in 1996, "Invitation to Christ" in 1998 and "18 Miles from Earth" in 2000, a collection of humorous stories about his childhood in Muleshoe.
Bristow is a 1960 WBU graduate and attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Robbie, who is an active part of his ministry, have one son, Rob.
