PLAINVIEW, TX — Wayland Baptist University reached more than 300,000 viewers nationwide Wednesday evening as part of its ongoing Empowered hosted by Meg Ryan initiative.
A 30-second commercial highlighting the university aired during programming on Fox Business Network, placing Wayland before a significant national audience and expanding the reach of its story beyond the South Plains.
“This was an extraordinary opportunity to share the Wayland story with hundreds of thousands of viewers across the country,” said Gary Vaughn, executive director of marketing and communication. “We are grateful for the platform and excited to introduce more people to what makes Wayland unique—our commitment to academic excellence, Christian values, and a strong sense of community.”
The commercial is one component of a broader drive tied to Wayland’s selection for the Empowered series. The project includes a seven-minute feature airing on public television stations, a shorter broadcast version for additional use, and a 30-second commercial airing across multiple outlets, including Fox Business Network.
Wednesday’s Fox Business placement marked one of the campaign’s most visible moments to date, positioning Wayland before a large national audience and reinforcing the university’s growing presence in markets beyond West Texas.
“This is about more than a single broadcast,” Vaughn said. “It’s about building awareness and momentum as we continue telling the Wayland story in new and meaningful ways.”
