University again recognized as Military Spouse Friendly® School

PLAINVIEW — Wayland Baptist University has been named a 2025-2026 Military Spouse Friendly® School, marking the fourth consecutive year the university has earned this designation.

This distinction highlights Wayland’s commitment to supporting the unique needs of military spouses, ensuring access to flexible, high-quality education that adapts to the demands of military life. The Military Spouse Friendly® Schools List is a resource for more than 1 million military spouses and their families.

President Donna Hedgepath said the honor underscores the university’s dedication to families who sacrifice alongside service members.

“Wayland understands that military families serve together, and supporting military spouses with flexible schedules, scholarships, and personalized services is one way the university can give back to those who give so much,” she said.

Dr. Hedgepath added that Wayland is proud to provide an environment where military spouses can pursue their academic and career goals while balancing the responsibilities of family and service.

Wayland has also been recognized as a Military Friendly® School every year since 2022-2023, achieving Gold status in 2023-2024. These distinctions place Wayland among the nation’s leading institutions in serving military-affiliated students and families.

Through its Plainview campus, external campuses in Texas, Arizona, and Hawaii, as well as extensive WBU Online programs, Wayland provides education that fits the dynamic lifestyles of military families. The university offers tailored schedules, remote learning opportunities, and academic support designed to meet the challenges faced by veterans, active-duty personnel, and their dependents.
