PLAINVIEW, TX — Wayland Baptist University is honored to announce that the institution has achieved the distinguished Gold Military Friendly® School designation for its outstanding commitment to serving veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.
This designation, awarded by Military Friendly®, recognizes Wayland’s dedication to creating a supportive environment that helps military students and their dependents succeed academically and professionally.
Dr. Donna Hedgepath, President of Wayland Baptist University, expressed pride in the university's accomplishment.

The Gold designation places Wayland among the top Military Friendly® institutions, recognizing excellence in areas such as academic policies and compliance, admissions and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid, graduation and career support, and military student retention. The university’s success in these areas is driven by its personalized services, scholarships for military families, and a flexible academic structure that meets the unique needs of veterans and active-duty personnel.
Wayland makes higher education accessible to all military students through the home campus in Plainview, as well as external campuses in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii, and extensive online programs. Military Friendly® Schools is an annual ranking provided by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned business established in 2001. The organization’s mission is to provide veterans and their families with the resources they need to thrive in civilian life. The Military Friendly® Schools designation identifies the colleges and universities that lead the way in supporting military students.
For the past two years, Wayland held a Silver Military Friendly® School designation and a Military Friendly® Spouse designation.
