PLAINVIEW — Wayland Baptist University’s School of Languages and Literature announces the first Wayland Student Film Festival takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, at LimeLite — Plainview’s newest entertainment venue.
The creation of Dr. Erin Heath, Professor of English, and Dr. Kimberlee Mendoza, Dean of the School of Languages and Literature, the festival brings the university and the community together for a first-of-its-kind event in Plainview. Admission is free, but snacks will be on sale.
“Both Dr. Heath and I felt that this was a great opportunity to have an experiential learning experience in our classes,” Dr. Mendoza said.
Dr. Heath teaches Introduction to Film and Dr. Mendoza teaches Humanities, which covers film. It’s the perfect combination with the community mix provided by LimeLite.
“We are hoping this will be a great experience for both the students and the audience,” Dr. Mendoza said.
This is the first time Wayland has hosted the Student Film Festival, and the university’s School of Languages and Literature is pleased to partner with LimeLite, which is located at 1403-B West Fifth Street.
