PLAINVIEW – Eighty-five Wayland Baptist University students are scheduled to participate in commencement ceremonies at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 20, at Hutcherson Center on the university’s Plainview campus.
Dr. Cindy McClenagan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, will present the candidates for degrees to Dr. Bobby Hall, President, who will confer degrees. Dr. Hall will be assisted by Mark Jones, chairman of Wayland’s Board of Trustees. Livestream coverage of the ceremony is available on the university’s website wbu.edu.
Among candidates for graduation are 20 students receiving master’s degrees and 65 receiving bachelor’s degrees. Sixty-four candidates for graduation are from Texas, including 11 from Plainview. Nine students are from other states, including four from New Mexico and one each from New York, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Colorado.
Ten countries are represented among 12 international students who are candidates for graduation. Two are from Columbia and two are from South Africa. Other countries represented include India, Germany, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, Australia, and Japan.
