SAN ANTONIO - Lee Little, president and CEO of Premier Workforce Training, was selected as 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award winner for Wayland Baptist University's San Antonio campus recently. The award will be presented at a later date.
Little has more than 25 years of experience in the area of workforce development, customer service, workers' compensation and fleet safety management. He has worked in various industries across the military, nonprofit, public and corporate sectors. He is also a certified corporate trainer and is a certified Lean Six-Sigma practitioner.
Little earned his bachelor's degree at Wayland in 2013 and is working toward a master's degree in organizational development. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Little earned several awards and medals during his career. He managed the 5th Medical Wing Communicable Disease Clinic at Minot AFB, N.D., and the majority of his military service was spent in healthcare management roles.
Little took that experience to the Alamo Chapter of the American Red Cross in San Antonio, serving as assistant director for health and safety, and to the City of San Antonio, where he was safety and health program supervisor and management analyst for the public works and solid waste departments. Little also worked as injury claims adjuster and trainer for USAA Insurance. He founded Premier Workforce Training in October 2018 and serves as its CEO.
"Wayland alumni are consistently serving their communities and doing amazing things in their profession, and Lee Little is a great example of someone who has built a career helping others improve in the workplace," says Teresa Young, director of alumni relations at Wayland. "His pattern of excellence makes him a great choice for distinguished alumnus, and we are proud he is part of our Pioneer family."
Wayland's Alumni Association has presented Distinguished Alumni Awards to graduates over the homecoming weekend for many years. The program was expanded in 2018 to include a winner for each campus' alumni, with Little among some of the last honored in 2020.
