Moody Science Building Project
As Wayland embarks on a future ripe with opportunities to educate even more students prepared in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education to impact their communities, the renovations and updates to the 1970s-model Moody Science Building become even more critical.
At the same time, we want to honor one of our most distinguished alums, Dr. Kenneth Mattox, by renaming the School of Mathematics and Sciences. Just like founder and pioneer physician Dr. James Henry Wayland made his mark on medicine locally, Dr. Mattox has made significant contributions to the medical community during his career. Part of the honor includes an endowment in the name of Dr. and Mrs. Mattox to help generations of science students reach their goals.
