About this Program

Students seeking a religious education degree specializing in youth ministry develop skills needed for leading staff or youth ministry within churches.

The religious education degree develops traits including a strong biblical and theological foundation, relating to adolescent development and youth culture, and relating to families with youth.

The religious education major requires a minimum of 39 hours in field specific courses, with a core of 30 hours. Students will take 12 hours in the youth ministry specialization. Required courses include topics such as: Youth Ministry in the Church, The Youth Minister, Church History, Historical Theology, and many others.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education: Youth Ministry Specialization requires 124 course hours. A total of 42 hours must be from upper-level courses.
