About this Program

A religious education degree with an educational ministry specialization at Wayland focuses on the studies and skills required for leading staff or educational ministries within churches.

The religious education degree is designed to help ministerial leaders develop a strong biblical and theological foundation while focusing on spiritual formation and religious education and ministry models for youth, adult and senior adult programs.

The religious education major requires a minimum of 39 semester hours of program specific courses, with nine hours in the educational ministry specialization.  Students will take courses such as: Adult Ministry in the Church, Youth Ministry in the Church, Christian Leadership, Christian Theology, and many others.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education: Education Ministry Specialization requires 124 course hours. A total of 42 hours must be from upper-level courses.
