About this Program

While earning a religion degree in chaplaincy ministry, students will develop skills for leading ministry within military, hospital, or professional chaplaincy roles. The program’s goal is for students to develop a strong biblical, theological and historical foundation, while focusing on spiritual formation and a Christ-centered worldview.

Students experience a combination of classroom work and practical applications as they develop their ability to serve as chaplains through various ministry programs.

The chaplain ministry religion degree requires 39 hours of major specific study, including psychology. Students take classes that fulfill their educational goals, such as Old and New Testament, Spiritual Formation, Christian Theology, Biblical Interpretation, advanced Old and New Testament classes, and Religious History.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Arts in Religion: Chaplaincy Ministry requires 124 course hours. A total of 42 hours must be from upper-level courses.
