About this Program

The master’s degree in religious studies is an advanced degree intended for students preparing for postgraduate studies or who are interested in graduate religious studies in a university setting.

The program emphasizes theological, biblical, and philosophical areas of study, beyond the general familiarity students have upon completing a BA in Religion. The Master of Arts in Religion includes a student thesis, which requires demonstration of a student’s competency in independent research.

The Master of Religion degree requires 37 course hours. A total of 12 hours must be seminar courses.
