About this Program

When seeking a Christian ministry certification with a pastoral ministry emphasis, you will develop skills to assist and lead in pastoral ministry within the local church.

In the pastoral ministry certification program, students experience a combination of classroom work and practical application as they develop the ability to serve through pastoral ministry.

This track of the School of Religion and Philosophy’s certification in Christian ministry is designed to help pastoral leaders develop skills needed to minister to their congregation as well as work in a bivocational setting.

The Christian Ministry program offers courses in Old and New Testament, Christian doctrine, biblical interpretation, preaching and teaching, church administration, church history, Christian leadership, and many others. This specialization supplements a Bachelor of Christian Ministry degree.

Requirements

The Certificate of Christian Ministry specializing in Pastoral Ministry requires 18 to 19 course hours. A total of three to four hours must be taken that specialize in pastoral ministry.
