Students are led by knowledgeable faculty dedicated to Wayland’s faith-based education and helping students achieve their academic and career goals. The School of Nursing ensures students receive exemplary education by maintaining small class and cohort sizes.

Wayland Baptist University is the only university that houses an LVN to BSN bridge program in the entire San Antonio region.  Wayland’s School of Nursing offers students the chance to pursue higher education and achieve career goals with a streamlined graduate admissions process for WBU Nursing Alumni.

The Wayland Baptist University School of Nursing Offers:

  • Interprofessional opportunities
  • Complete upper-division program courses over the last two years at the San Antonio Texas Medical Center, surrounded by hospitals and a variety of clinical sites throughout the San Antonio Texas
  • Complete the nursing concentration in 2 years (not including pre-req courses)

Under the direction of Dr. Rebekah Grigsby, Dean of the School of Nursing, Wayland Baptist University continues expanding multiple areas within the realm of Nursing Education.

 

The Dean of the School of Nursing is actively working to move the program forward and hopes that with the 2024-2025 academic year the Wayland School of Nursing will be able to offer the following advancements and tracks:

  • Traditional Generic BSN held on campus during weekdays.

  • LVN to BSN held on campus during weekdays.

Earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing can help to improve your ability to deliver care, open opportunities for new specialties, and help make you a more desirable candidate for leadership and management positions. 

The RN-BSN program is 100% online — allowing students to continue to work full-time while completing 8-week courses. Courses that require clinical components are completed through experiences in your community and course-led projects.

 

MSN-Nurse Educator Track

The School of Nursing offers a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program that focuses on Nursing education.  It also contains a unique embedded business course that will provide students with the necessary budgeting, recruiting, and marketing skills to be successful at the next level.
