About this Program
Wayland’s pre-engineering program is designed as a dual-degree partnership with the engineering school at either West Texas A&M University or Texas Tech University. When completed, the pre-engineering program results in graduates receiving two degrees at the time of commencement: a mathematics degree from Wayland and an engineering degree from WT or Tech. Students with the two degrees have proven more marketable once they enter the workforce.
Wayland prepares students for engineering school by providing them with hands-on, experiential learning through a broadly based academic program. Wayland’s small class sizes enhance the learning experience as students receive personalized attention.
Wayland students in the pre-engineering program have been highly successful in getting accepted to professional schools. The program helps students mature in their understanding before being sent on to complete their degrees, facilitating better success in this tasking field.
