About this Program

Professional writing encourages students to develop expertise in writing for traditional print and emergent technologies, such as contemporary online/web-based or other formats, in technical writing courses.

The minor prompts critical thinking, cultural and audience awareness, and the ability to work creatively in a variety of environments related to public relations, teaching, the legal field, writing, and research.

Whether students have an interest in writing professionally or creatively for the page or online, the professional writing minor prepares students for a future in presenting the written word.

To complete this minor, students are required to pass 18 hours of topical study.

Requirements

A minor in Professional Writing requires 21 course hours. A total of nine hours must be general education courses.
