Bio
Joshua mora, Ph.D., is a professor of Spanish and English in the School of Languages and Literature in Plainview, Texas where he also teaches undergraduate courses in Spanish and English, and graduate courses in English. He is also Associate Dean of Languages and Literature, where his duties are mainly overseeing the languages component. Dr. Mora previously taught at Angelo State University, Austin College in Sherman, Texas, Midwestern State in Wichita Falls and Texas Tech University. Dr. Mora serves as the advisor to Alpha Mu Gamma, a foreign language honorary and the Catholic Students Association, among his other duties, such as advising. He also sponsors an annual Spanish study tour to Nosara, Costa Rica during the May micro for Spanish majors and minors and those needing to complete their Spanish language requirements.
Dr. Mora completed his Ph.D. in Spanish and English in 1994 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He also holds the B.A. and M.A. from Texas Tech University.
Dr. Mora’s dissertation and area of interest is in Chicano literature and enjoys keeping up with the latest in the field, as well as teaching Spanish grammar and literature to undergraduate students.
Outside of the academic realm, Dr. Mora enjoys lifting weights and exercising, watching sitcom classics, spending time with family and cooking Mexican food with friends, and writing for personal pleasure.
