Bio

Erin Heath, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of English in the School of Languages and Literature at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas.  She teaches courses in writing, literature and film.  Before Wayland Baptist University, she taught as a graduate assistant and earned her Ph.D. at University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She holds both a master's and bachelor's degree in English from Texas Tech University.

Her research interests are primarily in film and American literature.  Her doctoral dissertation addressed how spectatorship theories of classic Hollywood cinema functioned for animated film.  She is currently working on a project about the representation of non-normative mental conditions in American cinema.

Her non-academic interests include spending time with family, reading fiction, watching movies, and occasionally painting.
