Musical Theatre Auditions
The Musical Theatre BFA is a collaboration between the departments of theatre and opera/musical theatre. In order to be accepted into the program, and to receive consideration for scholarships, students must audition before a panel of faculty. You can complete the audition form through this link.
Criteria to consider when auditioning for entry to BFA program:
The panel will hear two musical theatre selections in contrasting styles and eras. Pieces must be accompanied, preferably live (accompanists are available for auditions). A cappella auditions are not allowed.
Students intending to audition must bring copies of their musical selections for an audition pianist. If they do not have access to copies of the scores, this needs to be communicated to the audition's coordinator so that appropriate copies may be found before the student’s audition.
In addition, students will give two monologues in contrasting styles of 90 seconds or less in length. The greater the contrast in the material, the more our theatre faculty can see your range and abilities.
