About this Program
Students minoring in recreation and sports ministry gain motivational insight as well as practical instruction through courses that focus on the science of exercise as well as the management of exercise programs. Students also learn to engage in the field of ministry through sports and community fellowship.
These experiences can help orient students toward careers in youth and community camp and recreation outreach. While pursuing this 18 hour minor, students will gain perspective through participation in courses such as Spiritual Formation and Outdoor Education.
Requirements
The Recreation and Sports Ministry minor requires 18 semester hours of religion and exercise and sports science.

- Kappa Delta Pi is an active chapter of the national honor society for education students. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and be education majors in order to qualify.
- Students take part in events such as workshops and conferences, books sales, and have access to grants and scholarships through the society.
- The Exercise and Sport Science Club is an organization that encourages outstanding achievements in and outside of the classroom by promoting awareness and participation in exercise, health, nutrition, sports, and fitness management. Students participating in this organization are extended the chance to connect with fellow students and to network within their desired career field
