About this Program

Choosing a minor in coaching is excellent for students who have recently developed a desire to work in sports and physical activity. Students will learn the skills necessary to lead a team. Classes focus on the structure, organization, and rules of various sports as well as teaching the leadership and mentoring skills that coaches find essential to the job.

Requirements

A Coaching minor requires 18 semester hours with 7 being upper-level.

Organizations - Exercise and Sport Science Club

  • The Exercise and Sport Science Club is an organization that encourages outstanding achievements in and outside of the classroom by promoting awareness and participation in exercise, health, nutrition, sports, and fitness management. 
  • Students participating in this organization are extended the chance to connect with fellow students and to network within their desired career field.
